Abstract
ATE software is highly complex and historically has been created from scratch by ATE vendors. This technique has often led to software of poor quality which is difficult to learn and use, and to uncertain delivery schedules. This paper outlines an alternative technique of creating ATE software using commercially available software components as building blocks. This results in higher quality, reduced development time, reliable schedules, and an end product that is easier to lean and use
