Abstract :
Oily sludge is a common by-product of petroleum processing, storage and transport. It is currently treated to a minor extent before it is disposed of in a landfill. However as energy casts rise, and environmental impacts become of greater concern, there is increased interest in developing a means to reduce the amount and toxicity of this waste, and to recover useful materials. In this paper, the oily sludge of Daqing Oil Extraction Plant is studied in the laboratory, and the composition of the oily sludge is analyzed by the weight method, the crude oil is recovered through washing the oily sludge with surfactant, the conditions of crude oil recovered are researched, and the recovery of crude oil is up to 99.24% at the optimal conditions. Washing method can be implemented as a continuous method to reduce the amounts of waste oily sludge, while recovering valuable fuel oil.
