Abstract :
Three principle types of instrumentation-assisted measurements conducted in studies of bioelectromagnetics are discussed: measurements of incident electric or magnetic field intensities (E-fields and H-fields, respectively) or equivalent power densities; biological response measurements such as heart rate, motor activity, tissue temperature, etc.; and measurements of EM dose or dose rate induced in a particular subject by the irradiation. The use of the specific absorption rate (SAR, in watts per kilogram) as the international unit of EM dose rate is considered
