Abstract
A new method of conversion of chemical energy into electrical power is considered. For this it is used a semiconductor device, which was named as an electronic catalytic cell (ECC). In many respects the ECC is similar to semiconductor photovoltaic cells, but the energy of chemical reaction is used instead of light. An electrolyte of any kind (substance with ion conductivity) is not used. Such devices can have some potential advantages before electrochemical fuel cells. These advantages and opportunities of the ECC practical using are considered in the paper. Some results received by the authors are submitted.
