Abstract :
Ubiquitous learning is an important concept and a breakthrough in the field of education. Based on the theories of education, suitable teaching strategy in the process of learning can improve learning efficiency. The self-directed learning theory emphasizes some properties including the free learning mode, personal learning style and self-decided learning pace. Similarly, the learning modes of ubiquitous learning are also free and convenient. As deduced here, it is suitable to apply the self-directed learning theory to ubiquitous learning environments. Therefore, this study discusses and integrates the self-directed learning strategy and the properties of ubiquitous learning to propose a Self-Seamless teaching (SST) strategy for ubiquitous learning environments. By using a mobile device, this Self-Seamless teaching strategy obviates many learning obstacles and improves the learning flexibility of traditional self-directed learning to improve learning efficiency. This study also applies the Self-Seamless teaching strategy to ecological education to verify the learning efficiency.
