Abstract :
This paper shows the state of art of “MisuraInternet” project. Such national project has the aim to monitor the QoS network performances provided by Italian ISPs. A novel infrastructure has been created and distributed on the whole Italian country, beside an open source cross platform software (Ne.Me.Sys.) has been developed. Every Italian user can measure its own wireline access quality, by means of Ne.Me.Sys., and then can compare its own results with measured values of monitoring network. MisuraInternet project make available to consumers a certified instrument to estimate their own line quality and their own ISP behavior. If SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are not respected users can recede the contract without penalties. The cited project was born two years ago and the most important outcomes will be shown in this paper.
