Abstract
This paper discusses the potential role of the network infrastructure virtualization in designing Future Internet. Such infrastructure gives us possibilities for introducing new functionalities, which cannot be implemented in the current network. These new functionalities will be illustrated in the case of the currently designed IIP System, which is based on the network virtualization enabling us to set a number of Parallel Internets differing in data and control planes. On the other hand, when we introduce virtualization to the network, we should solve new problems that are mainly related to effective resource sharing and flexible management.
