Abstract :
This paper presents an improved design of coreless axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator with consideration of design restrictions, in order to active material cost reduction. A computer aided program based on sizing equation is developed. Sensitivity analysis of design main parameters is evaluated and their variation effect on the generator cost and performance is considered. A 2 kW generator with two parallel rotors and one inner coreless stator is designed with respect to sensitivity analysis results. The 3-D finite element model (FEM) is used to confirm the validity of design algorithm.
