Abstract :
In this paper, a low-dimensional atmosphere model with general circulation is researched. The model is the classical Lorenz-84 system combined with seasonal force. The stability and the chaotic behavior of the seasonal forcing model are studied. By means of the Lyapunov exponents, the bifurcation map, phase diagram and Poincare section, the dynamical behaviors of the system are described and various routes to chaotic behavior are also identified. It is shown that there exists chaos for the model in certain parameter area.
