Abstract :
We present a broadband digital pulse generation technique for use in ultra-wideband pulse radio transceivers. The pulse shape and frequency spectrum is digitally controlled. A quadrature-DAC based transmitter architecture is used to achieve reduction of the sampling images. A pulse generator test-chip fabricated in a 0.25 mum BiCMOS process is reported and generates broadband pulses in the public safety band (below 800 MHz)
