Abstract
The proliferation of diagnostic reasoning tools, coupled with a need in those tools to use existing design, test, and maintenance data has led to incompatibilities between data formats, and an inability to communicate diagnostic information. The IEEE P1232.1 AI-ESTATE Data and Knowledge Specification has been created to address this need, by establishing a standard format consisting of diagnostic information models, through which the basic diagnostic entities, such as tests and outcomes, are defined. These models, represented using the ISO 10303 EXPRESS language, are discussed
