Abstract :
A description is presented of the antiseismic performance of porcelain housings with different materials and dimensions for 500-kV zinc oxide surge arresters. Data from simulated seismic tests on shaketables are summarized. The calculated results and those of the shaketable tests are close. On the basis of the test results, the mechanical strength and antivibration performance for different porcelain housings are evaluated
