Abstract :
Now, most TL1 Network Management System (NMS) adapters adopt the "First Come First Service" (FCFS) schedule strategy. However, with rapid development of computer and telecommunication technology, the FCFS strategy can\´t meet the need of network management. The direct reason is that the operating efficiency is so low that lots of management tasks from upper level system are backlogged in adapter, which decreases the whole NMS efficiency. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new task schedule strategy of increasing priority based on straight insertion, which is applied to a TL1 NMS adapter. This strategy ensures tasks with low priority can be scheduled in a certain time by increasing the priority of tasks waiting in the queue after a certain time interval. In the realization of this adapter, thread pool technology is imported. It can not only speed up the speed through multiple threads, but also prevent too many threads costing too much system resource. It has been proved that this strategy can greatly enhance the efficiency of whole NMS, improve users\´ satisfaction. This paper analyses this strategy and describes major modules of the adapter in detail.
