Integrated operations and insights on functional analysis techniques

To overcome the challenges of implementing integrated operations (IO) for the oil production facilities on the Norwegian continental shelf detailed guidance for function analysis and allocation has been developed. Main focus of the method described in the guideline is development of new work processes based on optimal allocation of functions between different physical locations in a virtual organisation. This paper presents the guidance applied for function allocation at the Veslefrikk oil field. Insights on function allocation, change management and work with goals and requirements from the project is reported.
