  • Abstract
In 2009, in an effort to renew this age-old relationship between art and technology, ISMAR inaugurated the Arts, Media and Humanities (AMH) program. This year, the number and quality of submissions to the AMH program reflect remarkable progress toward a fully mature track: 72 intent of submissions, 45 papers and 8 posters were submitted. 14 papers and 6 posters were accepted. This represents a 140% growth in submissions and a tightening in our paper acceptance rate from 47% to 31%. We´re pleased to acknowledge the extraordinary work performed by the first AMH Program Committee in recruiting reviewers, facilitating discussions, and making some very difficult decisions. This year also marks the formal realization of one of our initial goals, the critical dialog between science and the arts, through joint panel and joint paper sessions with the Science and Technology program. Please make an effort to attend and participate in what promise to be very lively sessions.
