Abstract :
This paper describes a system for data acquisition and measurement of partial discharge in insulators. The detector unit is developed in-house as a low-cost alternative to commercially available instruments. Software algorithms are developed and customized to facilitate easy operation of the instrument. The integrated package substantially reduces the requirement of human expertise for analyzing the results obtained from the measurements which makes the system suitable for industrial and commercial applications.
