Abstract
The use of partial-discharge amplitude distribution (PDAD) analysis for monitoring the aging trend in accelerated tests on insulation systems is proposed. The PDAD technique was found to be more reliable than traditional nondestructive diagnostic tests. The calculation of a merit index of aging progression is also discussed
