Abstract
This paper introduces two practical supervisory control configurations for use in industrial applications. The theory developed within the framework of the generalised predictive control is used within these structures. Their simple realisation and ability to handle constraints are considered as the major assets of the two approaches. An implementation of the results on a hot strip mill control application will be presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods
