Abstract :
In this paper, a modified harmonic loss model in PWM fed induction machines is proposed for improving the loss prediction. This model is based on the measured harmonic loss characteristics. The method for determining model parameters is given. The core and stray load losses are taken into consideration for a proposed model. The discussion of harmonic loss mechanisms particularly due to the effect of harmonic leakage flux is given
