Abstract
This paper describes an innovative approach to the senior design experience that is mutually beneficial to students, industrial partners and faculty members. In addition, the program provides a fresh approach to the ABET 2000 requirements. At the heart of the program is a robot soccer competition, where teams of senior engineering students design robots to autonomously play soccer. Control engineering plays a central role at several stages of the project
