Abstract :
As changes have occurred in the demographics of system operators in control centers throughout North America, training professional must now consider the varied experienced levels that exist for students participating in common training activities. These challenges encompass both ends of the spectrum where more experienced personnel who tend to have less interest in todaypsilas computer technology are participating side-by-side with less experienced more computer savvy participants. The challenge for trainers is to design, develop, and implement training activities that can satisfy all participants. This presentation will provide a detailed overview of the issues that exist with the design, development, and implementation approach necessary to ensure that all activity participants find value in the training. It will then explore the means by which the varied experienced levels and technology interests can be leveraged against each other the maximize participant interest.
