Abstract
A method of EMI reduction using spectral modification through self-excitation-chaos is proposed. We derived a second-order S-switching iterative map describing the dynamics of simple feedback buck switching regulator operating in continuous mode. Analysis of this map shows that chaos and bifurcations may occur at certain values of the input voltage. By making the converter operating in chaos, the simulation results demonstrate that a reduction of spectral peak and consequent spreading of the spectrum can be shown, and it will hardly influence to output voltage ripples.
