Abstract
We study the TCP performance over wireless broadband access (WiBro) compatible 802.16e system based on the NS-2 simulator. Even though TCP is one of primary applications over the WiBro system, limited work has been done due to lack of appropriate tools to study. We developed NS-2 based WiBro simulator that models the behavior of the uplink and downlink of the WiBro system. Our main observations are as follows: i) The uplink service that carries TCP ACK can be a bottleneck, ii) The performance of TCP depends on the number of users in the system.
