Abstract
The paper presents an approach for tuning power system stabilizer which is responsible for damping low-frequency oscillations in power system. Proposed approach is based on power system model identification by means of data collected from phasor measurement units and pole placement technique. To identify equivalent power system model MOESP method is used. Then stabilization parameters are tuned by applying pole placement technique to identified power system model. The proposed method has been applied to two-machine-swing-bus power system model. Proposed approach can be applied for on-line PSS retuning to provide better damping in case of power system topology changes.
