Abstract :
Verifying output pulse errors and upsets of an inertial measurement unit (IMU) in harsh electromagnetic environment (EME) is a key issue for inertial navigation and guidance system accurately measuring attitude angular rates and apparent accelerations of flight vehicle. This paper deals with an amount of laboratory tests on the IMU in a harsh EME, and performs a statistical analysis with the measured data to characterize the degree of EME effects on the IMU upsets and assess how the effects of the EME on the variations of the output pulses number from IMU sensors or inertial instruments such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
