Abstract :
Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) systems have been used to passively detect the electromagnetic emissions from airborne, shipborne, and landborne platforms. The process of radar (emitter) identification is based on the `knowledge-based approach´ which was implemented during the processing of constructing the database. The technical and tactical parameters connected with radar application are frequently a valuable source of knowledge needed in the process of their identification. The paper discusses the role of specific radar parameters (signatures) and in which way they may be applied to radar identification. Several examples of intercepted signals from radars about different applications will be presented.
