Abstract
This paper presents a simple wireless data transmission system based on the RFID concept with 1 Mb/s throughput. As a response to a growing interest into wireless monitoring of various parameters remotely, the authors developed a RFID system of limited complexity to be used as a test platform. The receiver module has been based on a dedicated digital system realized on a FPGA platform and exploiting advantages of the QAM modulation scheme to eliminate transmission losses at particular combinations of operating frequencies and antennae distances that occurred in previous version of the system. The performed tests were aimed at verifying the performance of the realization of the low-complexity RFID-based data transmission solution under conditions similar to those expected in short-distance, wireless monitoring. The paper concludes with a description of the results of the performed measurements.
