Abstract :
In case of a portable multifunction terminal, the performance of one function can be degraded due to the emitted noise from a PCB trace of another function. In this paper, the electric field intensity around PCB edges emitted from a PCB trace is simulated by changing the location of the trace and allowing the variations of the ground pattern using a commercial electromagnetic solver for a DMB receiver. These results can be used to determine the optimum antenna location having the smallest coupling to the noise. Finally, the several guidelines are proposed for the location of the PCB traces and the receiving antenna.
