Abstract
Effective time on station (ETOS) is a new reliability parameter used for systems that are designed to provided coverage (surveillance, defense, etc.) for a specified amount of time. The ETOS parameter can be used on systems that provide some type of coverage versus systems that have events defining their completion of a mission. ETOS measures the ability of a system to remain operational for the scheduled on-station time
