Abstract
Bifurcated queueing has been shown to be a very practical means to exceed the classical upper bound of 0.568 for throughput of input-queued ATM switches. We report the results from a simulation study of the associated improvements in the average cell delay. Our results indicate sharp reductions in the average cell delays, and our simulations include cases of both uncorrelated and correlated traffic
