  • Abstract
The dielectric strength of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) was measured under high hydrostatic pressure (50-500 bars) at temperatures of 30°C, 45°C, and 70°C. Experimental results have shown that the breakdown field Eb decreases with temperature and increases with pressure in these ranges of values. The increase of Eb with pressure is probably due to the condition mechanism effect in the material
