Abstract
The dielectric strength of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) was measured under high hydrostatic pressure (50-500 bars) at temperatures of 30°C, 45°C, and 70°C. Experimental results have shown that the breakdown field E b decreases with temperature and increases with pressure in these ranges of values. The increase of E b with pressure is probably due to the condition mechanism effect in the material
