Abstract :
Positioning accuracies of computer controlled machines such as robots, CNC machines and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are of great importance to their operations. An estimation concept for quantifying the error parameters based on error indications from ball-bar testing is described. A preliminary simulation study was performed, and it has been concluded that the concept is feasible and is worth further investigations.
