Abstract
A technique of dual path internal frequency compensator in the current mode DC/DC converter is described in this paper. An internal compensator circuit is composed of the sum of an integral component and a proportional component. The integral component is composed of a conventional voltage mode with miller capacitor and the proportional component is composed of a trans-conductance amplifier with a resistor load. These two components are easily combined. Therefore just lOpF capacitor and 1M¿ resistors with voltage amplifier and trans-conductor are required for realization of the internal compensator which has 7 kHz GBW (gain bandwidth product) of closed loop and otherwise in the conventional methods several nF is required for the same GBW. The enhanced dual path internal compensator technique developed in this paper will help enable internally compensated DC/DC converter for mobile system or power package which has small pin number.
