Abstract
Based on the technique sub-item comparisons between Chinese and foreign pairs figure skating athletes in 2008 world championship, this paper tries to identify the technical aspects which mostly hamper Chinese athletes´ scores. The analysis results show that: in jump technique aspect, the level of Chinese and foreign athletes are close to each other, but still to be improved. Referring to Throws and Twist Lift, the achievement of Chinese athletes is better than that of foreign athletes. However, in the aspect of Spiral Sequences and Death Spirals, Chinese athletes´ movement difficulty level is obviously lower than that of foreign athletes. What´s more the complete quality is general. Spiral Sequences and Death Spirals urgently need to be improved and enhanced for Chinese team, and on this basis we propose to try hard to develop new movement difficulty.
