Abstract
This article describes the newly developed compact switchgear with combined functions, so called mixed technologies switchgear (MTS), built of high-voltage switchgear assemblies according to standard IEC 62271-205. So advantages can be taken from this equipment, especially in combination with new approaches of substation layouts as an example. Strategies are needed to optimize the initial investment in switchgear technology, the economic operation of the installation and the renovation strategy of the equipment. This paper wants to give information and about newest developments of modern power grid switchgear technology.
