Abstract :
Research on mineral city competition can let decision-makers accurately understand on superiority and the inferiority of the city, and it will have the guidance significance to the mineral city´s sustainable development at the same time. We propose a new method of competitiveness evaluation for mineral cities by means of fuzzy clustering algorithm to apply the method to mineral city competition of Shanxi Province based on 22 evaluating index system. The application of fuzzy clustering algorithm in city competition evaluation may avoid the subjective factor, it can cluster competitive competences of the cities objectively, and propose countermeasure effectively to enhance the competition of mineral city.
