  • Abstract
According to the production requirement of open-pit mine, this paper presents an AutoCAD based GIS technique for open-pit mine, which can not only develop the powerful drawing function of AutoCAD but also achieve the attribute expression function of GIS. The technique is composed of the establishment of the entity and its property expression, the creation and association of spatial database and attribute database of AutoCAD map for open-pit mine. Furthermore, the integrated technique was implemented based on ActiveX, which has real-time image and text interaction, analysis and calculation function of attribute data. Lastly, the integrated technique was applied into an open-pit mine in China and proved to improve the production efficiency.
