Abstract :
Individual software elements in emerging large- scale distributed applications must exhibit simple, yet well- defined underlying patterns, which aid the development of scalable, complex software systems capable of demonstrating domain-specific intelligent coordination characteristics. Effective coordination among these distributed software elements is often contextual and often strictly related to the environment in which they reside; with the need to be acutely aware of, and execute in, dynamic group structures and environments. We discuss necessary extensions for enabling intelligent coordination in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Grid computing frameworks - current widely adopted techniques. A software architectural framework for such a system, modeled and simulated using Petri nets has been prototyped.
