Abstract :
In this paper, a radiation model of the circuits on the digital PCB is proposed. Based on this model, it is shown that the radiation due to common mode (CM) currents can greatly exceed those due to differential mode (DM) currents. Furthermore, the main causation of the radiation emissions from CM is derived from this model. Therefore, the EMC performance of the digital PCB can be improved by controlling the ground impedance, especially, the resonant impedance, of the digital PCB. The experimental results verified the model and the following analysis.
