Research Advances in Face Recognition

With the development of artificial intelligence and computer vision, face recognition has become a hot topic of pattern recognition. This paper presents a survey on the state-of-art face recognition research, systematically classifying and introducing face recognition methods. Furthermore, this paper analysis and tests some recent algorithms, which are used to extract the local facial features. In addition, several major issues for further research in the area of face recognition are also pointed out at the end of this paper.
