Abstract :
We are concerned with fuzzy interval modelling of aggregated traffic streams occuring in communication networks that are subject to trunk group management strategies. The use of fuzzy models in describing the switching process of traffic streams allows to solve the minimization of transmission costs and time delays under uncertainty about the traffic descriptors. The traffic streams are formed by input-output aggregation of traffic component rates. In the communication switching nodes, these components are combined so as to meet the constraints of statistical capacities of the outgoing communication links
