Abstract
In order to solve the problem of "Information Island" in the field of geography, a design of GIS component for multi-source spatial data integration, based on Object-Oriented techniques, is presented in this paper. This GIS component not only has functions in common use of GIS, but also has the advantage of agility, easy to use, easy to extend. It is implemented based on COM/DCOM criterion, and programmed by VC++6.0 and ATL.
