Abstract
Modelling of VSC HVDC systems is a difficult task that requires a trade-off between level of detail and modelling effort, simulation speed, and data requirements. In this paper a generic VSC HVDC model for stability studies is proposed. It is based on coupled current injectors, allowing easy implementation in most commercial stability programs. The application scope has been demonstrated. Simulations have been performed to show the behaviour of the modelled HVDC link in a simple system.
