Abstract
Personal networks (PN) is a new concept related to pervasive computing with a strong user focus. Unlike present personal area networks that have a limited coverage, PNs have an unrestricted geographical span and incorporate devices into the personal environment regardless of their location. PNs are configured in an ad-hoc fashion to support personal applications as the opportunity and demand arise. This paper proposes an architecture for PNs and discusses the related privacy and security issues and requirements.
