  • Abstract
Modern education in the area of power systems cannot be based only on theoretical knowledge. The main problem of education in this areas is due to the continuous and fast development of technology. The curricula must adapt themselves to technological development and, consequently, principles of laboratory education have to follow this trend as well. In this paper, the approach of a ldquomulti-functionalrdquo lab utilized by the power system group at the Politecnico di Bari is described. This approach has been adopted at the power system laboratory (PS Lab) of Politecnico di Bari both for hystorical reason and an optimal exploitation of the available space. The main features of this lab are described in terms of organization and facilities on three different educational levels.
