  • Abstract
    Data transformation is one of the critical parts in Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) to implement Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). However, most ESB platforms adopt XML-based model as their common data model, which is quite time consuming on data transformation. In this paper, a Data Model for Integration (DIM) which is used in ESB for integrating heterogeneous data sources is proposed. And a method based on DIM to improve the efficiency of message transformation is also proposed. We define the transformation rules for DIM, and give a common transformation algorithm which is implemented in Mediator of ESB framework for the data transformation. An ESB application framework based on DIM is also introduced. Finally, results of experiments are presented, and shown that integration efficiency of ESB can be improved by the DIM-based method.
