Abstract :
A two-tiered hierarchical production planning model with sequence-independent family setup time, including aggregate production planning (APP) and family disaggregation planning (FDP), is proposed in this paper for a multi-product, single machine production system. In APP, the constraints about inventory, backorder and regular time are revised according to practical situation; and in FDP, the resulted APP in the first period is decomposed into detailed lot sizing plan for each product family in each sub-period and is guaranteed for completion. Two types of feedback information are adopted to adjust the aggregate plan at different stages of a period. The performance of the model is validated with data from an enterprise.
