Abstract
Preparing the future generation of electric power and energy systems engineers in the current academic environment in USA is a challenging task. In order to maintain the interest levels with the undergraduate students and to promote advanced level power engineering education, career opportunities in electric power and to meet the future industry needs and expectations, the curriculum and course contents must be very carefully designed and delivered. This paper discusses at length such a program for both at the undergraduate and the graduate level successfully implemented at Colorado School of Mines, Colorado.
