  • Abstract
Null derivative constraints and side lobe levels constraints are proposed to implement broad nulls and required side lobe levels in certain angular region pattern synthesis in this paper. Based on the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization method utilized for pattern synthesis of linear array without constraints, null derivative constraints and side lobe level constraints are introduced. The advantage of the simplified computation resulted from steering vector orthogonalization in unconstrained orthogonal approach is maintained, and the uniform or non-uniform linear array pattern synthesis can be realized by this method. The experimental results show that the null derivative constrained and side lobe levels constrained orthogonal approach can fulfill linear array pattern synthesis with simple calculations. In addition, the orders of derivative will be decided by the null depth easily.
