Abstract :
This paper describes how one switchgear manufacturer met the challenges of switchgear product standardisation by developing a new range of fixed MV circuit breakers based on a catalogue of standard functions. The advantages and disadvantages of using standard `off the shelf´ switchgear panels for primary and large MV consumer substations are also discussed
